What is Reiki?
The Japanese word Reiki traditionally means Universal Life Force Energy (Rei = universal; Ki = energy). It is a system
of natural healing by channeling the universal life force energy to rebalance our bodies. Reiki is a simple, effective, natural
healing method via the hands-on touch of a Reiki practitioner, who is able to access this energy to assist healing, harmony
and balance.
Just the act of laying hands on an animal (or human) to comfort or relieve pain is something we have
all known. Even when we ourselves experience pain, our initial reaction is to put our hands over the painful area. Touch conveys
love, caring, warmth, healing; even an animal's instinct is to lick the painful area for these same reasons. This is the basis
for Reiki and other touch healing methods.

How Reiki Works Living bodies radiate energy and warmth,
and this is considered our life force. Reiki works by directional flow of the Ki to balance, energize and encourage a healthy
state of being. As with TTouch, Reiki's healing energies can activate the body's natural ability to heal and re-balance itself.
Reiki is typically hands-on, although with some animals, Reiki may often be performed from a distance if an animal
exhibits heightened sensitivity to the energy flow. Each animal will experience Reiki in their own way. TTouch and Reiki provide
a unique combination of methods to enhance your animal's well-being and happiness.

Integrated Energy Therapy
The Integrated Energy Therapy® (IET®) system was developed by Stevan J. Thayer and is a powerful
energy therapy technique in which energy blockages are cleared from 9 cellular memory areas along the body's integration channel.
Through the practitioner's connection to this energy, IET® is performed using a series of gentle hand placements
on various integration points. IET® seeks to "get the issues out of your tissues" for good. Similar to
Reiki, IET® supports healing on all levels -- physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. IET®
can be used in conjunction with many medical treatments and alternative therapies.
Sharing IET® with your pet is a wonderful way to bond as well as provide healing for him/her.
TTouch, Reiki, IET, nor any other method is not a substitute for good veterinary
care. You should always seek the advice of a Board Certified Veterinarian if your animal is ill or requires
emergency care.
